MEET DAX 🩸💙

Team Dax Attack started with one tiny human who has made a very big impact on our lives.

Our journey into the bleeding disorders world began when Dax was just shy of four months old, after we started noticing unexplained bruising that didn't seem quite right. What followed was nearly two long months of searching for answers before Dax was finally diagnosed with severe Hemophilia A in April 2024, at just 5.5 months old.

Hemophilia A is a rare, inherited bleeding disorder caused by a deficiency of Factor VIII, one of the proteins the body needs to form a stable blood clot. For Dax, having severe hemophilia means his body produces essentially no functional Factor VIII on its own. 

His diagnosis completely changed our family's world overnight. Suddenly we were learning an entirely new language of factor levels, infusions, treatment plans, emergency protocols and bleeding risks, all while trying to figure out what life with hemophilia would look like for our baby.

Thankfully, what we've learned since then is that hemophilia is something Dax has, but it certainly isn't who he is. 

If you've ever met Dax, you know he's wild, hilarious, fearless, and determined to live life at approximately 100 miles per hour. He's never met a piece of furniture he didn't want to climb or a questionable decision he didn't want to investigate. 😂 Raising him with a severe bleeding disorder keeps us on our toes, but our goal has always been to give him the fullest, most normal childhood possible while keeping him safe. 

Along the way, we've experienced some incredibly scary moments, but we've also found an incredible community of families and organizations who understand this life in a way few others can. That community is a huge part of why Team Dax Attack exists today.

WHEN ONE DIAGNOSIS LEADS TO ANOTHER

Dax's diagnosis also led to an unexpected discovery: his mom, Sierra, has mild Hemophilia A too.

For generations, women in hemophilia families were often thought of simply as “carriers.” We now know that women can (and do) have hemophilia themselves. Yet women and girls remain dramatically underdiagnosed.

The World Federation of Hemophilia estimates that only 4.5% of expected hemophilia cases in women worldwide are actually diagnosed.

That reality has made raising awareness especially important to our family. Sierra is passionate not only about advocating for Dax, but about helping change the conversation around women and bleeding disorders, because no one should spend years experiencing abnormal bleeding without knowing why.

WHY TEAM DAX ATTACK EXISTS

Team Dax Attack is our family's way of turning something we never expected into something meaningful.

Each year, we create a shirt to raise awareness for hemophilia, rally the people who love Dax, and give back to the bleeding disorders community that has supported our family.

In 2025, our friends, family, and community absolutely blew us away. Team Dax Attack sold 72 shirts and raised $3,425 through our very first t-shirt fundraiser and Unite Walk. The support was FAR beyond anything we could have imagined, and that was just the beginning.

So naturally... we're doing it again. 💙

WHERE THE MONEY GOES

100% of the proceeds from our 2026 Team Dax Attack shirts will be donated to Texas Central Bleeding Disorders (TCBD), our local nonprofit serving individuals and families affected by bleeding disorders throughout North Texas.

TCBD provides education, advocacy, community programs, support and resources for families like ours. Supporting them means supporting not only Dax, but the incredible bleeding disorders community we're grateful to be part of.

This year's shirts will also help us show up LOUD for the Unite for Bleeding Disorders Walk in Grapevine on November 7, 2026.
